Products Description of Lithium Bromide Hydrate CAS#85017-82-9

Lithium bromide is a highly efficient water vapor absorbent and an effective air humidity regulator. A 54%–55% lithium bromide solution is used as an absorbent refrigerant.

Lithium bromide appears as a white crystalline solid or aggregate, with a melting point of 162–167°C (lit.) and a density of 3.464. It is stable under normal conditions but may be sensitive to moisture. Lithium bromide is incompatible with strong acids and strong oxidizing agents.

Lithium Bromide hydrate CAS#85017-82-9

In organic chemistry, lithium bromide serves as a dehydrochlorinating agent and a swelling agent for organic fibers such as wool and hair. In the medical field, it is used as a hypnotic and sedative.

Lithium bromide is also used in photography, as an electrolyte in certain high-performance batteries, and as a chemical reagent.
