Product Details
Polypropylene glycol (PPG) is manufactured using various catalytic systems, including potassium hydroxide (KOH) and double metal cyanide (DMC) catalysts. Production technologies range from conventional semi-continuous reactor processes to advanced microchannel reactor systems, offering flexibility in process design and production efficiency. Under specific laboratory-scale conditions, such as a reaction temperature of approximately 190°C and a pressure of around 2 MPa, propylene oxide conversion can reach up to 63.5%, with the resulting PPG exhibiting molecular weights in the range of 600–650. Actual conversion rates, molecular weight distribution, and product properties depend on catalyst selection, operating conditions, and reactor configuration.
