Product Description
Magnesium carbonate hydroxide (CAS 39409-82-0), commonly called basic magnesium carbonate, is a light, white, bulky inorganic powder produced by reacting magnesium salts with carbonate under controlled pH. It combines MgCO₃ and Mg(OH)₂ in a hydrated structure, and is valued for its low bulk density, high absorbency, good heat insulation and safe non-toxic profile.
Key features:
White, light and bulky powder with high specific surface area.
High oil and perfume absorption, ideal as a carrier and extender.
Good thermal insulation and flame-retardant properties.
Non-toxic, odorless, and available in industrial, food and pharma grades.
Decomposes on heating to MgO, CO₂ and water, making it a useful MgO precursor and smoke-suppressant filler.
Low hardness, good dispersion in rubber and polymer systems.
