Product Description
2'-Fucosyllactose (2'-FL, CAS 41263-94-9) is the most abundant human milk oligosaccharide (HMO), accounting for about 20–30% of all HMOs in breast milk. Chemically it is α-L-fucopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→4)-D-glucopyranose, produced commercially by microbial fermentation. It is supplied as a white to off-white powder and is the fastest-growing HMO ingredient in infant formula and adult nutrition.
Key features:
Naturally identical to the dominant oligosaccharide in breast milk.
High purity (≥90% dry basis) with tightly controlled residual sugars.
Prebiotic — selectively feeds beneficial gut bifidobacteria.
Gut barrier and immune support — mimics host glycan receptors and blocks pathogen adhesion.
Fermentation-derived, non-GMO-option available, allergen-free.
Easy to dissolve, stable in dry blends and reconstituted drinks.

Product Application
2'-Fucosyllactose is a high-value bioactive sugar mainly used in infant nutrition, adult gut-health supplements and functional foods.
In infant formula and follow-on formula, 2'-FL is added to bring the HMO profile closer to breast milk. It supports the development of a healthy gut microbiota, helps strengthen the intestinal barrier, and reduces adhesion of pathogens such as Helicobacter pylori and certain enterobacteria to the gut lining.
In adult and senior nutrition, it is used in dietary supplements, synbiotic sachets, functional drinks and yogurt drinks marketed for gut comfort, immune support and post-antibiotic recovery. It pairs well with probiotics (Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus) and other HMOs such as LNnT.
In clinical and medical nutrition, it is incorporated into oral nutritional supplements, tube-feeding formulas and digestive-health products for people with altered gut microbiota. It is also used in beauty-from-within and skin-barrier products marketed for gut–skin axis benefits.
