Products Description
Sodium Hypophosphite Monohydrate (SHP), CAS#10039-56-2, formula NaH₂PO₂·H₂O, is white or colorless monoclinic crystalline powder/pearly crystal, odorless, easily deliquescent when exposed to humid air. It is a powerful, mild and stable inorganic reducing agent. Highly soluble in water, ethanol and glycerol; its 10% aqueous solution shows weak alkalinity, with pH value around 6-8. HS:2835100010. Not dangerous goods for normal shipment by sea, road or air. It is the most widely used, cost-effective reducing agent for the modern electroless nickel plating industry.

Product Application
Sodium Hypophosphite Monohydrate (SHP) serves as a versatile industrial and specialty chemical, covering a full spectrum of application scenarios across multiple sectors. It acts as the core reducing agent for electroless nickel plating (ENP), functioning as the essential raw material to form uniform nickel-phosphorus coatings on substrates ranging from metals to plastics and ceramics. It also works as a reliable reductant in organic synthesis processes, supporting targeted reduction reactions and high-purity catalyst preparation. Beyond that, it is a functional additive widely adopted in non-halogen flame retardant formulations, heavy metal removal water treatment systems, and fast-curing concrete admixtures. With GRAS approval, it can be safely used as a mild food antioxidant and stabilizer, and it also serves as a standard chemical reagent for reduction-related laboratory experiments.
