Products Description
Benzotriazole (BTA) is a white to light yellow crystalline powder widely recognized as one of the most effective corrosion inhibitors for copper, silver and their alloys. It works by forming a stable, compact protective film (passivation layer) on metal surfaces, effectively preventing oxidation, tarnishing and corrosion even under humid or underwater conditions. With outstanding thermal and oxidative stability, UV resistance and low toxicity, BTA is a versatile chemical auxiliary used across water treatment, metalworking, antifreeze, lubricants and polymer industries.Sigma-AldrichSinochem Middle East Corporation.

Product Applications
Corrosion Inhibitor: Protects copper, brass, bronze, silver and other metals in industrial water treatment systems (cooling water, boilers), circulating water treatment and closed-loop heating/cooling systems.
Antifreeze & Coolant Additive: Extends the service life of metal components in automotive antifreeze, radiator coolants, aircraft deicing and antifreeze fluids.
Metalworking Fluids & Lubricants: Used as a rust inhibitor and vapor-phase corrosion inhibitor in cutting fluids, hydraulic oils, gear oils, brake fluids, transformer oils and greases.
Polymer Additive: Imparts UV resistance and anti-static properties to polyester, polyamide and other high-molecular materials.
Photographic Chemicals: Serves as an antifogging agent (restrainer) in photographic emulsions; also used as an analytical reagent for silver determination.
Electroplating & Metal Surface Treatment: Used as a brightening and anti-tarnishing agent.
