This product is a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid, with a relative density of approximately 0.98 at 20°C. It dissolves readily in water and polar organic solvents, while exhibiting limited solubility in non-polar organic solvents. In aqueous solutions, it displays nonionic or cationic characteristics depending on the pH. When the pH is below 7, it exhibits cationic properties. Amine oxide is an effective cleaning agent that generates abundant, stable foam. Its melting point is approximately 132–133°C.
