Product Description
Diethylene Glycol Butyl Ether Acetate, also known as DBAC or Butyl Carbitol Acetate, has CAS 124-17-4, molecular formula C₁₀H₂₀O₄ and molecular weight 204.26. It is a clear, colourless liquid with a mild ester odour. Its melting point is -32℃, boiling point 245℃ and closed-cup flash point 105℃. It is partially soluble in water and fully miscible with alcohols, ketones and most hydrocarbon solvents. This high-boiling glycol ether ester features balanced solvency and slow volatility. Our industrial grade reaches 99% minimum purity with consistent quality. It is non-dangerous goods for normal transportation, normally packed in 200kg iron drums for overseas supply.

Product Application
It is widely adopted as a high-boiling solvent and coalescing agent for high-grade baking enamels, automotive coatings, coil coatings and screen printing inks. It works as retarder solvent to improve levelling and gloss, and prevents film defects during high-temperature curing. It can be used in latex paints to lower the minimum film-forming temperature. It also serves as coupling agent in dye formulations, selective extraction solvent in fine chemical separation, and auxiliary ingredient for industrial cleaning agents, adhesives and electronic cleaning liquids. Its stable drying performance makes it popular for formulations requiring slow, uniform solvent release.
