Products Description
Ethyl salicylate is a colorless, oily liquid characterized by a mild wintergreen-like aroma. It has a boiling point of 234℃ and a melting point of 1.3℃. It is readily soluble in ethanol, ether, acetic acid, and most non-volatile oils, while being slightly soluble in water and glycerin.
Ethyl salicylate is widely used in organic synthesis, flavor and fragrance preparation, and as a solvent in various applications. It is produced through the esterification reaction of o-hydroxybenzoic acid (salicylic acid) with ethanol, resulting in a compound with valuable chemical properties for industrial and research purposes.

Product Application
According to GB 2760-96, ethyl salicylate is temporarily permitted for use as an edible flavoring agent. It is mainly applied in the preparation of artificial cinnamon oil and various berry flavors, including blackberry, black currant, strawberry, raspberry, and related fruity formulations.
Ethyl salicylate is also used in daily chemical products, such as soap fragrances, where it contributes sweet floral notes and can be blended with scents like acacia, ylang-ylang, and lily of the valley. In oral care products such as toothpaste, it can be used in small amounts to modify or enhance aroma and flavor, replacing or adjusting the scent profile of its methyl ester counterpart.
In addition, ethyl salicylate serves as a solvent for nitrocellulose, fragrances, and organic synthesis processes. It is widely utilized as an intermediate in organic synthesis, in the manufacture of artificial flavors, and in various industrial and chemical applications.
