Products Description of N,N-Diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate CAS#6283-63-2
N,N‑Diethyl‑p‑phenylenediamine sulfate appears as white to light‑red crystalline solids. It dissolves freely in water and is slightly soluble in alcohol. Being sensitive to air and light, it is prone to oxidation and gradually turns pink upon prolonged exposure to ambient atmosphere. Its melting point falls within the range of 184‑186 °C.
This aromatic amine salt requires sealed, dark and dry storage conditions to retard oxidative discoloration. Its aqueous solution shows weak acidity. It is mainly used as DPD reagent for residual chlorine detection in water quality analysis, as well as a photographic color‑developing intermediate.
