Pigment Yellow 34 (CAS 1344-37-2), commonly known as Chrome Yellow or Lead Chromate Yellow, is a classic inorganic yellow pigment based on lead chromate (PbCrO₄, often as a PbCrO₄–PbSO₄ solid solution). It is a bright, opaque yellow powder widely used in industrial coatings, traffic paints and plastics where high opacity, weather resistance and cost efficiency are required.
Key features:
Bright, clean yellow shade with excellent hiding power and opacity.
Good lightfastness and weather resistance for exterior coatings and road markings.
Good heat resistance, suitable for plastics and high-temperature coating processes.
Strong tinting strength and easy dispersion in resin systems.
Cost-effective yellow for heavy-duty industrial applications.
Available in lemon, medium and deep shades to match different color recipes.

Product Application
Pigment Yellow 34 is a workhorse inorganic yellow pigment mainly used in industrial coatings, traffic and road-marking paints, plastics and specialty printing inks, valued for opacity, outdoor durability and low cost.
In industrial and protective coatings, it is used for heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, machinery primers and finishes, and metal anti-corrosion coatings, where its bright yellow and good weather resistance give long-lasting exterior color.
In traffic and road-marking paints, chrome yellow is a standard safety color for road markings, curbs, traffic signs and runway markings, because it is highly visible, weather-stable and wear-resistant under tire traffic.
In plastics, it is incorporated into PVC, PE, PP and engineering plastics for industrial goods, decorative profiles and plastic parts, where its heat resistance and opacity make it a cost-effective yellow. It is also widely used in masterbatch.
In printing inks and specialty applications, it is used in industrial and specialty inks, safety and warning colors, and as a toning pigment in blends with other inorganic pigments.
