Sodium chlorite CAS#7758-19-2
Liquid sodium chlorite is an alkaline and slightly hygroscopic aqueous solution, usually white or pale yellow‑green. It dissolves easily in water and alcohol, and remains fairly stable at room temperature under proper storage.
Nevertheless, sodium chlorite decomposes and releases chlorine dioxide gas upon contact with acids. It carries fire and explosion risks when mixed with sawdust, organic matter or reducing agents. Classified as a toxic chemical, it demands cautious operation, compliant storage and full observance of relevant safety protocols.

Product Application of Sodium Chlorite CAS#7758-19-2
Sodium chlorite acts as a powerful bleaching agent and oxidant with broad industrial applicability. Its main uses cover the bleaching of pulp, paper and multiple fiber materials such as cotton, hemp, reed and viscose fiber. It is also suitable for bleaching sugar, flour, starch, grease and wax.
Besides bleaching, sodium chlorite finds use in leather dehairing, surface treatment of selected metals, drinking water purification and wastewater treatment. It can also function as a discharge agent during indanthrene dyeing.
