Diethyleneglycol Diformate CAS#120570-77-6 Product Description
Diethyleneglycol diformate is a di-ester synthesized from diethylene glycol and formic acid. It is a clear, colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with low volatility, good water solubility and excellent compatibility with most organic solvents. Featuring a high boiling point of 209–210°C and flash point at 99°C, it serves as a high-boiling industrial solvent, plasticizer and chemical intermediate. It can act as a latent curing agent for epoxy & PU resins via slow hydrolysis releasing formic acid, offering extended pot life for one-component systems. Widely used in coatings, inks, adhesives, PVC plasticization, resin synthesis and lubricant formulations.

Diethyleneglycol Diformate CAS#120570-77-6 Product Application
1.High-Boiling Co-Solvent and Viscosity Modifier: Used in paints, printing inks, and adhesives as a high-boiling co-solvent and viscosity regulator, helping enhance pigment dispersion and improve film formation.
2.Polymer Plasticizer: Serves as a plasticizer for PVC and other polymer materials, enhancing flexibility, elongation, and processing performance.
3.Latent Curing Catalyst: Applied in epoxy and polyurethane casting resin systems to provide extended pot life under ambient conditions. When exposed to heat and moisture, gradual hydrolysis releases formic acid, initiating a controlled curing process.
4.Versatile Chemical Intermediate: Utilized as an intermediate in the production of polyester resins, lubricants, and various fine chemicals.
