Products Description
Propyl acetate, also known as n-propyl acetate, is a clear, colorless liquid characterized by a mild, pleasant fruity odor. It occurs naturally in certain fruits, including strawberries, bananas, and tomatoes. It exhibits good solubility in a wide range of organic solvents, such as alcohols, ketones, esters, and oils, while being only slightly soluble in water. Due to its favorable solvent properties and characteristic fruity aroma, propyl acetate is suitable for various industrial and commercial applications.

Product Applications
Propyl acetate is widely used as an effective industrial solvent in coatings, printing inks, nitrocellulose-based spray paints, varnishes, and various resin formulations. It is also utilized in the flavor and fragrance industry due to its mild, pleasant fruity aroma.
In the printing industry, propyl acetate serves as a moderately fast-evaporating solvent for flexographic and gravure printing inks, particularly in applications involving polyethylene and polyamide films. It is also suitable for dissolving nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, and heat-reactive phenolic resins.
Propyl acetate has a characteristic fruity odor that develops into a pear-like fragrance when diluted. It occurs naturally in fruits such as bananas, tomatoes, and raspberries. According to China's GB 2760-86 food additive standards, it is permitted for use as a food flavoring ingredient. It is primarily used in the formulation of pear, gooseberry, and other fruit flavors, as well as in fruit-flavored solvent preparations.
Furthermore, propyl acetate exhibits excellent solvency for various synthetic resins, including ethyl cellulose, nitrocellulose, styrene-based resins, and methacrylate resins. These properties make it a valuable solvent in organic synthesis, coating formulations, and printing ink production. It is also used as an industrial dehydrating agent in certain manufacturing processes.
