K-CATALYST

  • High Catalytic Activity: Large surface area and strong surface acidity speed up reactions such as esterification, Friedel–Crafts reactions, pyrazole synthesis and deprotection reactions.

  • Easy Recovery & Reuse:  As a heterogeneous catalyst, it is separated by simple filtration and can be recycled, cutting material costs and waste.

  • Cost-Effective & Eco-Friendly: A green, economical alternative to corrosive liquid acid catalysts; reduces waste and simplifies downstream processing.

  • Reliable & Stable: Chemically and thermally stable, with consistent batch-to-batch quality for reproducible results.

  • Versatile: Works as a direct catalyst or as a support for metals and other active species.

  • Safe to Handle: Non-corrosive powder with low toxicity, simplifying storage, transport and workplace safety.

Products Description

Montmorillonite is a 2:1 layered aluminosilicate clay. Each layer consists of one octahedral alumina sheet sandwiched between two tetrahedral silica sheets. The interlayer space contains exchangeable cations (Na⁺, Ca²⁺) and water molecules, which give the clay its characteristic cation-exchange capacity, swelling behavior and surface acidity.

Through acid activation, the layered structure is partially dealuminated, generating a high specific surface area, enhanced porosity and a large number of surface acid sites (both Brønsted and Lewis type) — the key to its catalytic performance.
