SILICA CAS#10279-57-9
Hydrated silica, also known as silicon dioxide hydrate or “white carbon black”, is an inorganic chemical material manufactured via industrial precipitation processes. Its primary constituent is silicon dioxide, represented by the chemical formula SiO₂·nH₂O. It generally presents as a white, amorphous, lightweight and odorless powder. It features water‑insoluble property, excellent heat resistance and non‑flammable characteristics.
Hydrated silica is widely adopted as an abrasive component in toothpaste formulations. Through mechanical friction, it removes soft dental plaque and extrinsic stains on tooth surfaces. Consisting of smooth, fine‑grained particles with low Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) value, it delivers effective cleaning performance while lowering potential wear and damage to tooth enamel.
