Products Description
Bisphenol A (BPA), also referred to by its chemical name 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, is a white crystalline substance with combustible properties and a mild phenolic odor. It has a relative density of 1.195, a melting point of 155–158°C, and a boiling point of 250–252°C, while its flash point is approximately 79.4°C. BPA exhibits good solubility in various organic solvents, including methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetic acid, acetone, and diethyl ether, but is only slightly soluble in water.
BPA is mainly utilized as an essential raw material in the manufacture of polymers, particularly polycarbonates and epoxy resins. These materials are extensively applied in the production of plastic goods, food packaging containers, and medical equipment. However, owing to concerns regarding its potential adverse effects on human health, the use of BPA in specific products has been restricted or prohibited in certain countries and regions.
