Applications of Glycolic Acid CAS#79-14-1
Glycolic acid is an essential chemical raw material widely utilized in the production of ethylene glycol, menthyl glycolate and quinine glycolate.
It is also applied in the formulation of tanning agents, hair colorants, leather dyes, textile dyes, adhesives, metal chelating agents, petroleum demulsifiers, electroplating additives, aluminum plate etching solutions, cellulose fabric cross-linking agents, stainless steel electropolishing agents and other chemical products.
Additionally, it serves as a cleaning and disinfecting agent in food processing facilities, livestock farms and animal housing areas. Other applications include boiler scale inhibitors, surface treatment agents for copper and various metals, as well as raw materials for skincare and cosmetic formulations.
